Situated in the heart of Coniston, The Gallery is an ideal base to explore the village and the Lake District. This delightful self contained Victorian property is more of an apartment than cottage and lends itself perfectly to couples, families & friends looking to be centrally based.

Perfectly positioned, The Gallery is in a great location for exploring Coniston village with all the amenities less than a 5 minute walk away. Those who visit can leave the car parked and easily explore their surroundings on foot. There's also plenty of easy access to the surrounding fells and mountains nearby, The Old Man of Coniston, Dow Crag and Torver are only a short walk away making the property ideal for walkers, mountain bikers and those who simply want to relax and unwind.

Ground floor
From the Victorian timber & slate porch, guests enter the light and bright hallway. From here you enter into the long tastefully decorated living area: from kitchen, through dining area to sitting room. With many frosted windows, there's plenty of light and the open plan makes it very spacious. The kitchen, recently fitted in December 2016 is modern and well equipped with gas hob, electric oven, fridge, microwave, dishwasher and washer/dryer. The dining area is situated just off the kitchen allowing families and friends to gather in the heart of the home.

The sitting room has been designed around relaxation and has 2 large, comfy sofas, TV, DVD, CD player and views to Grizedale Forest. There's even a table football game if needed.

First floor
Upstairs there's a sleek and modern shower/bathroom and two double bedrooms, one of which can be converted to singles.

Outside
To the front of the property is a small sitting out area complete with garden furniture. Coniston Water can be reached on foot in just 10 minutes, the perfect space to picnic, watch the world pass by or splash around in the water.

Local Activities
Coniston is an excellent centre for outdoor enthusiasts, with some superb climbing, walking, water sports, fishing and cycling to be had all year round.

For cycling enthusiasts there are some fantastic trails to be found in the area and the delights of Grizedale Forest are only a short ride away. For runners of all abilities the Lakeland Trail series visits Coniston yearly offering 5k, 10k, marathon and half marathon options. A favourite events amongst visitors and locals is the annual Coniston 14, 13.9 miles of scenic beauty as runners of all ages lap Coniston Water. For endurance athletes the Montane Lakeland 100 & Lakeland 50 events depart from Coniston each July and a whole host of water sports can be enjoyed down at the boating centre. Lastly for those who come to walk the area, no trip to Coniston would be complete without a climb up the Old Man of Coniston.

However for those who like to keep their feet firmly on the ground there's The Ruskin Museum, which depicts the fascinating history of the area including the famous water speed record attempt of Donald Campbell and on the eastern shores of the lake lies Brantwood the Victorian home of philosopher John Ruskin, where regular events and art courses are held. Should you just wish to relax during your time here then the tremendous landscape of cascading waterfalls, streams, lakes and mountains should help you switch off from modern life. Delights such as Tarn Hows and Grizedale Forest are nearby and prove to be ever popular with visitors of all ages.
