March 2016 - Good Friday Walks
Happy Easter Everyone and I hope you all had an eggcellent weekend
Good Friday was such a fantastic day, the sun was shining and it was a great day for walking. So what did I do …. I went for a walk at Seathwaite in the Duddon Valley.
When walking I came across some beautiful scenes and the most spectacular scene I saw was this waterfall. I just love waterfalls!
March 2016 - My friend Herdy
I have had my friend Herdy up to play the past few days and we have been up to all sorts.
We have been to the office to check on the girls and make sure they are all set for Easter next week and we have also been up on the fells enjoying the most of this lovely spring weather.
February 2016 - A Summers Day
What a beautiful day it was yesterday - Blue skies, the sun was shining and there was dusting of snow on the tops.
Making the most of the sunshine, I went on a walk round the Coppermines Valley.
January 2016- Picturesque Winter Walks
After all the rain came the snow!
I thought I would make the most of the snow and head out for a walk to Tarn Hows. We waked all the way round the Tarn as the sun began to set, spectacular!
This is my favourite walk and I would recommend it to everyone.
January 2016 - The Festive Period
The festive period is now over and I don’t know about you but I am worn out. All this eating, drinking and meeting lots of new and old friends is just exhausting.
I have decided for my New Year resolution is to sleep more! Well for the first part of January maybe and then I will see what 2016 has to bring.
December 2015 - Rain and snow in the space of one week
As many of you will know that Cumbria was badly hit by Storm Desmond and only a week after Storm Eva hit us with snow. Coniston luckily escaped the floods. My heart goes out to those across Cumbria especially my fellow four legged friends who have lost their homes or cannot find their way home.
Stay stay friends!
November 2015 - "I'm singin' in the rain"
When will it ever stop raining?
This is a photo of me next to the waterfall near my house, it just keep growing and growing from all the rain. Must admit though it does look impressive.
November 2015 - Power Boat Speed Records Week
The first week in November is always a busy week for me, if am not being interviewed, I am out making sure all the Power Boats are ready.
Power Boat Speed Records week is an annual event that takes place every year. Competitors and officials travel from all over the world to witness this fantastic event.
Records Week is the only event in the power boat racing calendar to bring together all classes of boat since its start in 1970.

October 2015 - Ziggies day at home
Last week I spent a day at home, helping my owner clean his vintage car ready for a Vintage Rally down south.
September 2015 - Tipi Weekend
This weekend I had great frun watching tipi's being erected at the Coppermines Mountain Cottages, which looked fantastic!
August 2015 - Tarn Hows
We haven’t had many good days this August for me to go out for a good walk and explore the countryside around me.
But on one of the sunnier days we ventured to Tarn Hows, a great place to walk and have a picnic.
It is around a 1¾ mile circular walk around the tarn, and is accessible for all ages and abilities.
August 2015 - Colwith Force, Little Langdale
As a dog, I love water, especially waterfalls. This month I visited Colwith Force which is in Little Langdale. It had been raining heavy the night before so the waterfall was very full, but it was stunning to look at.
July 2015 - Scotland
People who know me know I'm never at home as I love to head out exploring.
This weekend I was in Dryman in Scotland, and walked up Whangle. It was a beautiful day as you can see from my photos. The perfect day for a walk.
July 2015 - Ballachulish in Glencoe
I often head up to Scotland for a little break once in a while. This time I decided to go further up the country and headed to Ballachulish in Glencoe. It was just like home from home, beautiful mountains, lovely lakes, lots of walks and plenty of open fields for me to run around in.
June 2015 - Vintage Car Rally
Every year me and my owner head down to Buxton in Derbyshire, for the annual Vintage Car Rally. I love going to this event, I get to see all my old friends and meet lots of new friends. It’s a long weekend but I just sit back and enjoy myself.
June 2015 - Maundy Bank Walk
There is no place like home, Maundry Bank is a beautiful place which overlooks Coniston Village. Not too far from my house this is a perfect walk on a lovely summers night.
You can get to Maundry Bank by taking the road up between The Black Bull and The Co-op, towards the Coppermines Valley. 500 yards past the cattle grid there is a path on the right hand side which will lead you to the top.
June 2015 - Walking in the Sunshine
What a perfect day, to be up on the tops and enjoying the sun. Today I went up to Brown Pike and Blind Tarn, which is a tarn below the Pike.
Remember when you are up on the fells on a hot and sunny day to make sure you drink lots of water, this will keep you cool and hydrated.
May 2015 - Dunoon- Scotland
When I was up in Scotland with my owner, we went for a walk past the Benmore Centre, which is an outdoor adventures centre.
May 2015 - Levers Water's
Although Coniston Old Man is on my door step it isn’t very often I have the chance to get up into the hills and enjoy the stunning scenery around me.
Today I had a day off from helping at the farm and watching the maintenance men with their daily jobs so I decided to take a stroll up towards Levers Water, which is next to the Old Man and take in the views and the beautiful waterfall.
If you would like to take in the gorgeous views, see the route I took.
May 2015 - Off on my holidays… again
It really is a hard life being a dog! This month I have been on my holidays again, making the most of the good weather and putting all those fell climbing skills to the test in Scotland!
April 2015 - Holibobs to Cousin Beryl’s and Lyme Regis
This week I have been on my holidays. We travelled down to the south coast but stopped off at Cousin Beryl’s house on the way, where a warm welcome and some yummy treats were waiting for me! She gives the best belly rubs and I always enjoy going to see her.
I also had an adventure on the sea walls at Lyme Regis, I felt very ostentatious as I walks along the wall.
By the beginning of the 19th century, Lyme Regis had become a fashionable resort for summer visitors, and of the thousands who came to enjoy the pleasures of the town none is recalled with more pride and affection than Jane Austen (1775 - 1817). Jane came to Lyme with her family in the summer of 1804. Jane wrote letters to Cassandra describing what she had seen and done in the town: walking on the Cobb, dancing in the Assembly Rooms, bathing (from a bathing machine) and rather overdoing it, and disputing with her landlord the price of a broken jug. I wouldn’t let them give me a bath but I did have a good splash about in the sea!
March 2015 - A day at the farm
Today I spent the day at the farm, working hard- as you can see. The farm is a great place for me to spend my days, I can run around, guard the road and help the handy men with their work.
It was a beautiful sunny day, perfect for heading up to Levers Water or the Old Man of Coniston.
February 2015 - Little Langdale
Today we took the jaguar for a little drive up Wrynose Pass.
From the top stunning views over the whole of the Lake District can be enjoyed.
It was a sunny yet chilly day and me and Lorna thoroughly enjoyed exploring the Lakes in style.
January 2015- Snow days!
So it’s that time of year again where the snow descends on The Coppermines Valley. Luckily we have our own snow plough and gritter to keep access clear, you can see David is busy keeping them in working order!
It was great heading up the Old Man with snow under foot. Due to the weather there were not many people up on the fells which was strange as usually it’s busy up there!
I've been lucky enough to witness lots of weddings taking place this year. Our unique mountain venue, in the Coppermines Valley offers the perfect backdrop for people to say 'I do'.
I must say that all of the brides looked beautiful and on most occasions the sun came out to play.
However once the partying starts in the evening it's always my time to head home and relax.
December 2014 - Snow Day
BRRRR a chilly day up in the Coppermines Valley! It’s a good job we have our own snow plough and gritter to keep the access roads to the cottages free.
I enjoyed playing in the snow today!
November 2014 - A day in the Coppermines Office
It was a cold day outside- gloomy, rainy and altogether not very nice, so I spent the day in The Coppermines Office.
My day consisted of reading the brochure, greeting customers and taking naps.
One of the girls in the office also gave me a yoghurt pot to play with!
September 2014 - Filming Day
Occasionally, when you are a celebrity like myself you have to give interviews, network and generally make sure you are in the public lime light.
Today was no exception, I spent the majority of this beautiful day being snapped, interviewed and petted. It’s a hard life!
June 2014 - Cathedral Cavern
We walked over to Cathedral Cavern today, where I met a new friend.
Our route took us from Coniston up through Tilberthwaite and back via Hodge Close.
Hodge Close is a disused quarry which has quickly filled up, be careful not to stand too close to the edge.
Cathedral Cavern is spectacular, another discussed quarry now open to passers by. If you are lucky you might just spot goldfish in the body of water inside the cavern.
This is a great circular walk for all the family. We stopped off at The Three Shires Inn nearby where we grabbed a yummy lunch and a well-deserved bowl of water for wagging tongues.
May 2014 - A day at Seascale Beach
Today I spent the day at Seascale beach. The Cumbrian coastline has lots of undiscovered beautiful beaches perfect for a picnic & paddle!
Seascale is a small attractive village which enjoys bracing sea air and miles of clean beaches! It’s a great little hideaway.
April 2014 - Visiting Old Quarry Cottage
One of our much loved cottages- Old Quarry has had a new outside decking area fitted. Perfect for those warm summer evenings sat out with a glass of wine –or bowl of water for the K9 variety.
I went up to the cottage today to test the deck out, a perfect sunny day to check out the views.
March 2014 - Meeting Celebrities
Though I have never really watched the soaps because I am usually too busy chasing my tail, I got to meet regular Emmerdale cast member Chris Chittle who plays Eric Pollard.
He was here on a walking holiday, taking some time out of filming and having a well-earned rest.
July 2013 - Day at Ullswater
Today I went to Ullswater and enjoyed a ride on the Ullswater Steamers
It was a cloudy but dry day so we thought it would be a great day to go out on the steamers. From Coniston to Glenridding we drove through Ambleside and over Kirkstone Pass.
Once in Glenridding we parked at the Ullswater Steamers Car Park, and set of on our walk to Howtown and then we got the Lady Dorothy Boat back to Glenridding
This is the route we took:
April 2013 - Snowy walk
Today was a great day for enjoying a walk up Coniston Old Man & Swirl Hows.
December 2012 - Pampering and Grooming
Every girl loves to be pampered ... Today I was bathed and then blow dried before Ruth got to work on combing me.
Sally and Ruth and Clare made sure my hair was straightened and had no knots, ready for my journey back to the
December 2012 - Ash House Boarding Kennels, Cheshire
My Christmas present this year was a pamper morning with my friends Audrey, Ruth and Kate at their lovely boarding kennels in Cheshire.
Audrey & Peter have transformed their traditional Cheshire dairy farm into a haven for smaller animals.
November 2004 - The Langdales
With my friends, heading up Stickle Ghyll to The Langdale Pikes
For details of this walk please follow this link to www.lakedistrict for dogs.co.uk
Stopping for a rest , with Rob, Ken Leanne, Kate, Eileen and Mary, although I am keen to keep going!
Having reached Stickle Tarn, my frields look over to Pavey Ark, where they are going to climb
"Jacks Rake" a rock scramble up the gully you can see running diagonally across the mountain face from bottom left to top right.
The first snow !
This is the first snow I have ever seen!
Leanne looks across Stickle Tarn to The Coniston Fells.
Climbing the gully on Jacks Rake proves quite challenging, but I soon learn how to find the best way!
Near the top on a rocky ledge I, Kate, Leanne, Adam and Rob look over to Windermere.
Now at the top, I meet my friend Belle to enjoy the snow.
October 2004 - Growing Fast
I'm growing up quickly - and rarely stand still!
October 2004 - Rock Star
Having now learnt to climb, I love to wander above the cottages in Coppermines Valley, near to the big holly bush.
September 2004 - Learning to walk
From a bundle of "fluff", I am now finding my way around the valley.
I often set off along the old millrace to meet the visitors at The Coppermines Mountain Cottages.
September 2004 - Ziggie
I was born on 1st July 2004.
I am a pedigree "red merle" border collie and I came to live with in Coniston a few weeks ago.
Like many, I spend some time each day " at the office " in Coniston Village - where I meet many lovely visitors.
Here I am at around 8 weeks old, enjoying the sunshine in Coppermines Valley.
