A well equipped, comfortable, clean and tidy cottage - couldn't fault it one bit
J.J., Dec 2016
Cottage was excellent, exactly as described in your information!
S.J, Apr 2016
Beautiful house, full of character and history, comfortable and very well-equipped with those extra touches that make a holiday rental, such as: baskets full of local guides and maps; films, games and books. The flights of stairs will help your fitness regime and practising parking the car should improve your driving skills. The views across Coniston Water and towards the fells are lovely, the weather sometimes capricious of course.

This is a beautiful place – immaculate, had everything we needed and was peaceful yet close to village, park and lake. It’s lovely to sit upstairs with the windows open and listen to the birds and look at the stunning views – we don’t want to go home!!! Nice to stay at a classy place that takes dogs.

A & F., Jun 2012
Marvellous place to stay. Cool layout, exceptionally well equipped...and I need to get a garage like this one!
Family W., Apr 2012
We all feel that this is an exceptional self-catering house and are all reluctant to downgrade to our normal homes!
Family F., Feb 2012
Our first stay here and probably will not be our last! We had admired the cottage from the outside on a previous visit and we have not been disappointed. Beautiful all round views, well located for walking, cycling and everything else. Would love to take the kitchen home with us but couldn’t fit it in the car. The garage is definitely a bonus as we could just drop the bikes there and didn’t have to worry about them. Again the best place we have stayed in the lakes and sorry to be leaving.
Sue & Graham, Nov 2011

Our second stay in this lovely house and I am sure we will be back. Hope to come back later in the year with the extended family...It is a big place just for 2 people! It was great to see the improvements made during the year, not that it wasn’t great last time. The new bath is lovely for a soak. Thanks for getting the tea strainer by the way!! Much Appreciated! The house seems even more like home this year Thanks very much
P & J, Jul 2011
Had a fantastic, relaxing week. The house is beautiful, and very well equipped – you can tell a lot of thought has gone into the décor
SC, Jul 2011
We have stopped at numerous cottages in the Lakes and this far exceeds our previous experiences. Ideally located with excellent views and the cottage offers so much. Thank you.
M & M, May 2011
It is so nice to see that the owners read and give feedback in this book – just more proof that they care. We have stayed here a couple of times and each time we say that it feels like returning home. It has everything you could ever need and the electrical items are of quality. The bed is very comfortable – the best I have slept in away from home. It is good to see the upstairs bathroom has been updated – It has made a big difference. This place is clearly loved and cared for and that makes it a pleasure to stay in. Many Many thanks. We will be back.
Family C, May 2011
You have thought of everything! Perfectly situated to be away from the crowds but within easy reach of the shops and pubs. Some great walks from the door too, so it was lovely to leave the car at home. The walk down to Coniston Hall and along the shore made a lovely stroll in the evenings. All in all a perfect stay – wish we had longer. Enjoyed the lovely kitchen very much and ate at home almost as much as down the village
H.J, Aug 2010
What a fantastic place to stay. The views are unbeatable. Our children really enjoyed the property and were very interested in the history. Really well equipped. I loved the kitchen so much I took photos! It is a really beautiful property in prime location.
Family P, Aug 2010
Loved the house and it’s position in the village – very handy for pub meals without having to get the car out of the garage! – got two large cars in – took a bit of practice but can be done with care. Fantastic views from top floor. The house is very comfortable, light and spacious. Appreciate the quality appliances – even down to the SEBO cleaner! Great kitchen – you have thought of everything – even if I don’t want to make a cake on holiday!!! Dogs had a great time also - they’re exhausted.
