Old Post Cottage is virtually on Church Beck Bridge (and the Black Bull Inn). You couldn't wish for anything more central and yet it is very quiet. Part of the Bridge Cottages and as such is one of the oldest buildings in the village. They were once the post office, a butcher and around the 1900s, a well known restaurant. From the private gravelled parking area, you go into a small V-shaped yet well-equipped kitchen, with slate floors, worktops and all mod cons. A couple of stairs lead into a spacious sitting room with its large leather sofas and armchairs. A big slate open fireplace creates the perfect focal point. The dining area has space for six and there are some interesting artifacts around - old farming and riding equipment and even some old skis! Upstairs there are two double or twin rooms, whatever best suits your needs, each with ingenious additional single beds that can be lowered from the walls to create bunk beds.
The Old Post Cottage is cosy and snug and yet flexible to host up to four people. It can also be linked to The Bridge Suite next door, for an additional two bedrooms (and one bathroom) and so extending the sleeping capacity from 4 to 8. If you wanted more, you could also link, via The Bridge Suite, to Bridge House, which has room for 8, and so groups of up to 16 are easily accommodated together. If your group is big, then here's your solution!

These historic whitewashed stone cottages are in the heart of the village and are some of the villages oldest buildings dating back over 300 years being the original village post office, a butchers and, latterly, a well known eating house.
They have private parking and a small garden, with a further private waterside garden with tables, chairs and barbecue by Church Beck with extensive views over the village & the surrounding fells. The Old Post Cottage and The Bridge House each have their own private outdoor covered hot tub.
They can be ingeniously combined together for groups of up to 16 in 8 bedrooms, ideal for celebrating special occasions and only a short walk from all amenities.
