Bridge House is one of the Bridge Cottages and also some of the oldest buildings in the village. Over their 300 year history, they have been the post office, a butcher and around the beginning of the 1900s, a well known restaurant. Though centrally located for all the goodies Coniston has to offer, including the Black Bull inn within spitting distance, Bridge Cottage is pleasantly secluded and peaceful.
There's parking right outside in the gravelled courtyard. A slated entrance leads you into a huge kitchen/dining room, which can seat up to 20. Double hobs and ovens and slate work tops will make catering for big groups easy and hopefully hassle-free! The living room has loads of space to laze about and relax in, and be warmed by the big slate real fire. Upstairs there's plenty of room too, with 4 doubles (or twins) all with their own en suite bathrooms.
Bridge House is large enough for 8 but if you have a bigger group, you can be linked to The Bridge Suite next door, for an additional two bedrooms (and bathroom) and so extending the sleeping capacity from 8 to 12. And if you wanted even more, you could also link, via the porch, to The Old Post Cottage, which has room for 6, and so groups of up to 18 are easily and comfortably accommodated together. Ideal for those big family get-togethers and celebrations.

These historic whitewashed stone cottages are in the heart of the village and are some of the villages oldest buildings dating back over 300 years being the original village post office, a butchers and, latterly, a well known eating house.
They have private parking and a small garden, with a further private waterside garden with tables, chairs and barbecue by Church Beck with extensive views over the village & the surrounding fells. The Old Post Cottage and The Bridge House each have their own private outdoor covered hot tub.
They can be ingeniously combined together for groups of up to 16 in 8 bedrooms, ideal for celebrating special occasions and only a short walk from all amenities.
